Location
Munich is the third largest city in Germany with a growing population of over 1.5 million people. It is furthermore an important center of art, culture, technology, and business. This “city on the Isar” is popular for its impressive historic buildings, its many museums, and beautiful gardens and parks. Moreover, Munich’s panoramic surroundings add to the city’s popularity: on a clear day, you can see the the Alps from the city and variety of magnificent lakes on the city’s outskirts are a "must" for every visitor.
The Bundeswehr University Munich is one of Germany’s few campus universities. It covers an area of 140 hectares and is located just outside of Munich. It contains all facilities that students and lecturers require for successful learning, teaching and researching in their day-to day lives. These include a grocery store, tennis courts, a swimming pool, sauna facilities, a beer garden, and a student restaurant.

Eligibility and Application Requirements
All students who study abroad must have at least a 2.5 GPA and be in good conduct standing with Norwich.
Bundeswehr University Munich is a civilian institution within the German defense force so students participate in a military lifestyle.
It is strongly recommended that students have at least an intermediate German speaking and writing proficiency because there are few courses offered in English.

Courses
Academic years are split up in to a three term year. Because of the fewer weeks per class, classes tend to have a faster pace and more class time per week, to make credits more easily transferred to Norwich University. The academic year starts in October and goes as follows:
Fall term:  October – December
Winter term:  January – March
Spring term: April – June
Lectures free term: July – September
At the Bundeswehr University Munich the small group concept has been implemented across all classes offered. The Student to professor ratio is about 20:1 so professors have more opportunities to teach students individually.
The Bundeswehr University Munich is made up of the University and a College of Applied Sciences and offers a total of 13 programs of study in 7 departments of the University and 3 departments of the College.

Housing
What is housing like for International Students?
All rooms on campus have internet access. However, in some buildings internet access is only provided via a LAN connection. You can ask the International Office in which building you will be staying and whether you will have to bring an Ethernet cable with you in order to have internet access.
Bündeswehr University Munich Buddy Program
The Study-Buddy Program was launched by the International Office in 2009 to provide information to international newcomers before their arrival and to help them adjust to the new environment in their first weeks. If available, every new international student gets a so called “Buddy”, i.e. a German student who is familiar with the university's structures and who will give a helping hand during the stay abroad in Germany.
