Program Description:
Trip Leader:  Prof. Carolina Payares-Asprino
Course Title:  EG477:  Sustainable Industrial Design (3 credits)

Scotland is a leader in sustainability, setting a very ambitious target of reaching net-zero by the end of 2045, with a 75% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions by 2030. This is a much better target than countries such as India which promised net zero by 2070 and China announcing carbon neutrality by 2060. This course will teach students about sustainable manufacturing while immersed in the European manufacturing city of Glasgow. Through several excursions students will see why the city has been named in the top 10 of the world's most sustainable cities by the Global Destination Sustainability (GDS) Index.

Living Arrangements
The program will be based out of the Glasgow Caledonian University.  Students will have an opportunity to experience a Scottish university plus engage with students from Scotland in the Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) program.  Housing is included.
