Course Title:  HI 355:  Colloquium in Modern Military History:  Germany’s Military-Past & Present

Germany is ramping up its military spending and offering greater support to Ukraine, so an evaluation of the history of the country’s military is especially relevant. After years out of the spotlight, German military power will be once again be on the world stage.
This program will be grounded in military history, and focus on the past, present and future of Germany’s armed forces. Students will travel to Berlin for hands-on learning experiences.  These will include visits to museums and field trips in the region, for example a visit to Dresden to visit the German Military Museum.  Students could also meet with German military officials to discuss the future of Germany’s armed forces.
